February is upon us which means you can start a new tournament at our Wednesday Knights, which is our month-long tournament.
How it works:
There will be 4 rounds to play this month, one game for each Wednesday of February (yes, including Valentine’s Day).
The time control for each player, for each round, is 30moves/90minutes + sudden death 30minutes ( 5-second delay starting move one). This means a player has 90 minutes (with a 5-second delay) to make 30 moves; if that 30 moves are done within that 90 minutes then the player gets another 30 minutes added to their time.
This tournament is USCF-rated event (submitted after the last round), which means your US Chess Federation (USCF) membership has to be current. All players will be in one section only paired using the Swiss-pairing system. So there is an opportunity for a good challenge, a good game for anyone.
If you would like to play, contact us by 7 pm on the first Wednesday by phone at 714-899-3421 or by email at email@example.com.
