Summer Scholastic Series will have 3 tournaments this year which will be on Sundays, June 28, July 26, and August 23, 2026. This tournament is open for players in Kindergarten to 12th grade. There will be 5 rounds per tournament and Top 5 players in each section will be awarded trophies. This tournament will be officially rated with US Chess.

Date: Sunday, June 28, 2026
Check-in between 9:30-9:45 AM and Round 1 starts at 10 AM with awards estimated at around 4 pm. There will be 5 rounds.
Boards, sets, and clocks will be provided.
Time control: Game 30 minutes, delay 5 seconds
Sections: (subject to change depending on the number of players)
- K-12th grade (Over 1100 in rating)
- K-8th grade Under 1100
- K-6th grade rated Under 800
- K-3rd grade Under 400
Awards: Top 5 trophies awarded in each section

*Starting in July, the Scholastic tournament entry fee will be $50 per player. If you would like to save on the entry, players are welcome to register now for future 2026 dates.
We recommend bringing your own writing utensils and scorebook/notebook. Spiral scorebooks are also available for purchase in support of the chess club for $5.
If your child would like additional practice time prior to the tournament, the chess club has open casual play every week on Thursday and Friday evenings at 6 to 9 pm. Walk ins are welcome and is free for chess club members/ $10 for non-members.
