Don’t miss out and join your fellow chess players at the American Open next month! We have over 500 players already signed up for the tournaments starting Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Lots of events to choose from:
- Main Tournament – Open (norm possible! with 9 rounds); Expert and Section A will be US Chess and FIDE rated
- Scholastic Tournaments will be on Fri, Sat, and Sun
- Blitz on Saturday
- Action on Sunday
- New Event! Chess Camp for Kids on Tuesday and Wednesday before the tournament.

There’s still time to sign up for Round 2 of 5 for this month’s Wednesday Knights – Wednesday Knights is a tournament for the whole month and will have one round played each Wednesday night on: Oct. 2, 9, 16, 23 AND 30. Registration and check in between 6 – 6:30 pm. Each round starts at 7:00 pm
Upcoming weekly Saturday Tournament will be on Oct. 12, 19, and 26. Register to join other chess players for over-the-board games. If registering on-site please come in early, between 9:00 and 9:30 am. Round 1 starts at 10 AM
This Sunday is the Amateur Tournament Oct. 13 – First round starts at 12 pm. (US Chess membership is not required for the non-rated section.) *Please note that this tournament is at SteelCraft Garden Grove* There is limited space so sign up early.
Halloween Scholastic Tournament – Come dress up and play at the SteelCraft Garden Grove on Sunday, October 27. Scholastic tournaments are for chess players in Grades K – 12th. (US Chess Federation membership is required for all sections.) Round 1 starts at 9:30 am
Casual chess on Thursdays and Fridays – Free for chess club members/$10 for non-members. Play as many games as possible between the hours of 6 pm to 10 pm. Walk-ins welcome! or Click Here to Sign Up
