This year is going by too fast! We are now in the fourth quarter of the year which means it’s time to plan for fall activities in addition to the upcoming 59th American Open.

This Sunday, September 8 at 12 pm will be the Amateur Tournament. For players of all ages, this tournament will be at SteelCraft Garden Grove and will have a rated and non-rated group. Parking is free on site.


Have the need for speed chess? The Blitz Tournament is next Tuesday, September 10 (Round 1 starts at 7 pm) at the chess club. Rounds will be US Chess rated, and the time control is 5 min with no delay!
It’s not too late to join September’s Wednesday Knights. There’s still time to join us for Rounds 2-4 on September 11, 18, and 25. Rounds starts at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
Looking for a one-day, multiple games, and a US Chess rated tournament? Join us this Saturday, September 7th or next Saturday on the 14th for the Saturday Open. The tournament will be at the chess club and will start Round 1 at 10 am. Parking is free on site. Other weekly Saturday tournaments will be on September 21 and 28.

Scholastic Tournament: Sunday, September 29 -The scholastic tournament is for chess players in Grades K – 12th. (US Chess Federation membership is required.) Round 1 starts at 9:30 am *Please note this tournament is offsite from the chess club and will be at SteelCraft Garden Grove*
