• Looking for opportunities to play over the board? We will now have Casual open play on Mondays 10 am – 1 pm in addition to the Thursdays and Fridays schedule of 6 pm to 9 pm at the Cypress location. Come and practice with people IRL!
• Summer camp schedules for kids 6-14 years old are now available. (For students 1200-1600 elo/rating, please contact the chess club for additional information on Advance Chess Camp for June 15-19.)

A Saturday Tournament – Rated games with US Chess; Cash Prizes

• Every Saturday at 11 am (May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30)

B. Wednesday Knights – Develop a momentum and play 1 classical game per week by joining our Wednesday Knights tournament for only $30 per month. Games are rated with US Chess.
Rounds start at 7 pm every Wednesday.

C. Amateur Tournament – Starter tournament for beginners with or without US Chess membership; Trophy & medal awards based on section.

• Sunday, May 10 | 12 pm
• A starter-friendly tournament with a non-rated section for non–US Chess members at a casual outdoor environment
• Location: SteelCraft Garden Grove (12900 Euclid St.)

D. Scholastic Tournament – Monthly rated tournament for players in Kindergarten to 12th grade

E. Open Play – Weekly practice is the key to keeping the mind sharp. Join us every Thursday and Friday for casual games at the chess club. It is the perfect opportunity for all levels to try out new openings and test out riskier plays. Get to play more than one opponent too! Walk-ins are welcome.

♟️ Beginner Chess Class for Kids in K-6th grade – Now Taking Registration!

We’re excited to open registration for Beginner I Chess! This class is perfect for children 6 years old and above who are completely new to chess.

• Every Wednesday
• Time: 4:30 pm
• Duration: 4 sessions (one hour per week)
• Tuition: $130

Students will learn fundamental rules, piece identification and movements, and good chess habits in a fun, supportive environment designed especially for young beginners.
