Is your child ready for this month’s chess tournament? The March Scholastic tournament is going to be on Sunday, March 15, 2026 and is open for players in Kindergarten to 12th grade. Top 5 players in each of the four sections will be awarded trophies and the game results will be submitted for rating with US Chess.

Date: Sunday, March 15, 2026
Check-in between 9:30-9:45 AM and Round 1 starts at 10 AM with awards estimated at around 4 pm. There will be 5 rounds.
Time control: Game 30 minutes, delay 5 seconds
Venue: Indoors at 6803 International Ave. Unit 206, Cypress, CA 90630 (Free parking available)
Sections (subject to change depending on the number of players)
- K-12th grade (Over 1100 in rating)
- K-8th grade Under 1100
- K-6th grade rated Under 800
- K-3rd grade Under 400
Awards: Top 5 trophies awarded in each section

Boards, sets, and clocks will be provided.
We recommend bringing your own writing utensils and scorebook/notebook. Spiral scorebooks are also available for purchase at the chess club for $5.
