Wednesday Knights – Four rounds in September with one round played each Wednesday night on: September 3, 10, 17, AND 24 – rounds starts at 7:00 pm. Tournament is at ChessPalace – Cypress.
Saturday Tournament – Maintain your chess skills with our weekly tournament on Saturdays: September 6, 13, 20, 27 for rated games. 4-rounds for Under 1000 rating and 3 rounds for 1000+ rating. Round 1 starts at 11:00 AM Tournament is at ChessPalace – Cypress.
This Month’s Grandmaster Lecture on the Sicilian Defense will be on September 6, 2025, before the Saturday tournament. The lecture starts at 9:30 am for an hour and is included with the tournament registration. The lecture and Saturday Tournament is at ChessPalace – Cypress location.
Start your tournament journey with our casual and friendly Amateur Tournament Sunday, September 14 – We have a non-rated group where participants get to learn tournament rules and etiquette and each round results matter! It’s a tournament after all. Round 1 is at 12 pm. (US Chess membership is not required.) *Please note that this tournament is at SteelCraft Garden Grove*
BLITZ! Tournament – Tuesday, September 16. Only $15 to play and games are US chess rated.
Scholastic Tournament – September 28 Scholastic tournament is for chess players in Grades K – 12th. (US Chess Federation membership is required.) Round starts at 10 am. The Scholastic Tournament is at the ChessPalace – Cypress location.
Casual chess on Thursdays and Fridays – Free for club members/$10 for non-members. Play as many games as possible between the hours of 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Walk-ins welcome!
Additionally, registration is now open for the 60th American Open Chess Championship. Join your fellow chess enthusiasts during Thanksgiving Week and play chess! Entry bird rate ends August 31.
