Chess Camp Schedule for Summer 2025

Summer is just around the corner. Enroll your child in our chess camp for a continuous exercise of their mental skill and acuity in a curriculum that is all about chess!

We’re excited to offer five week-long, full-day sessions for the summer of 2025!

Campers will learn strategies, tactics, and patterns through puzzles, lectures, casual play, and mini-tournaments.

Each session runs Monday to Friday starting at 8:30 am – 4 pm. Full-day, half-day (morning OR afternoon), and single-day options are available.

Sample Schedule for the Day

  • 8:30- 9:00 am Drop off period/Warm-up games
  • 9:00-9:50 am Tactics Lecture
  • 9:50 -10 am Break
  • 10 am -11:15 Puzzle Worksheets/Working group
  • 11:15 am – 12:00 Practice Play
    • 12:00 pm – Half day schedule ends
  • 12:00 pm – 12:45 pm Lunch Break
  • 12:45 pm-1:15 pm Warm up games
  • 1:15 pm – 2:00 pm Game Analysis-Lecture
  • 2:00 – 2:30 pm Visualization practice
  • 2:30 – 3:00 pm Break
  • 3:00 – 4:00 pm Practice Play

Lessons

  • FUNDAMENTALS
    • Learn how the pieces move, the objective of the game, and general topics to get a game going
  • OPENINGS AND ENDINGS
    • Campers memorize openings and get familiarity with different ways to checkmate
  • PATTERN RECOGNITIONS
    • What patterns appear often? Campers will see and recognize pattern in movement and in positions
  • TACTICS & STRATEGY
    • Campers learn to develop their own strategy using basics and tactics
  • OVER-THE-BOARD CHESS PLAY
    • Part of the camp’s goal is for children to be able to enjoy playing chess with others away from computer and iPad screens

$120.00 – $800.00

Chess Camp Sessions:

  • For children 6 – 14 years old
  • Culminates with a tournament play on the last day
  • A fun way to learn a classic game and develop valuable life skills for future success
  • Meets Monday to Friday with full-day schedule of 8:30 am to 4 pm or half-day schedule of 8:30 – 12 pm or 12:30 pm – 4 pm
  • Registration
    • Half-Day Schedule: $350 per week/$120 per half-day
    • Full-day schedule is $800 per week/ $170 per day
