Schedule for July

Special hours and events this month:

I. Blitz tournament will be on Tuesday, July 16 at 7 pm this month.

II. We got more chess camps this month! Each session is Monday – Friday at 9 am – 12 pm.

III. The chess club will be close on Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20, 2024.

Saturday Open: Register for any of these weekly tournament on Saturdays: July 6, 13, and 27 to join other chess players for over-the-board RATED games. Check in at 9:30 AM. Round 1 at 10:00 AM.

There will be no Saturday tournament on July 20, 2024.

Blitz Tournament Tuesday, July 16  (Round 1 starts at 7 pm) It will be US Chess rated, and the time control is 5 min with no delay. The sign up fee is $15 (advance entry and online registration ends 2 hours before the start of the round), and will be $30 at the door. For ChessPalace members, entry is completely free!

Classical time controls are played during Wednesday Knights tournament. We have five rounds this month, with one round played each Wednesday night on: July 3, 10, 17, 24 and the 31st. Rounds starts at 7:00 pm.

Looking for a starter tournament? The Amateur Tournament is for beginners at all ages. The tournament will be on the second Sunday, July 14. Round 1 starts at 12 pm. There is a section for non-rated games and rated games. *Please note that this tournament is at SteelCraft Garden Grove*

Calling all children in Kindergarten to 12th Grade! Sign up for the summer Scholastic Tournament on Sunday, July 28– The games will be official rated games with results being submitted to the US Chess Federation. Round 1 starts at 9:30 am *Please note that this tournament is at SteelCraft Garden Grove*

Practice some more chess! There is Casual Nights: Thursdays and Fridays – Free entry for chess club members/$10 for non-members. Play as many games as possible between the hours of 6 pm to 10 pm. Walk-ins welcome! or Click Here to Sign Up
