There’s a time change this month, on Sunday, March 8. 2026. Daylight will be longer as we head into spring, so that means more time to play chess at the chess club! While adding this time change to your calendars, feel free to add any or all the upcoming ChessPalace events indicated below as well.

- Scholastic tournament will be on Sunday, March 15 (third Sunday of the month)
- Spring Quarter Group Class for kids will start on April 1st.

B. Wednesday Knights – Games are rated with US Chess
A multi-round series for players looking for consistent competitive play. Rounds start at 7 pm every Wednesday.

D.Amateur Tournament – Starter tournament for beginners with or without US Chess membership; Trophy & medal awards based on section.

- A starter-friendly tournament with a non-rated section for non–US Chess members

E. Scholastic Tournament – Rated tournament for players in Kindergarten to 12th grade

- Designed for youth players looking to compete and improve.

♟️ Beginner Chess Class for Kids in K-6th grade – Now Taking Registration!
We’re excited to open registration for Beginner Chess starting this March! This class is perfect for children 6 years old and above who are completely new to chess.
- Start Date: Wednesday first session begins March 4
- Time: 4:30 pm
- Duration: 4 sessions (one hour per week)
- Tuition: $130 total

Students will learn fundamental rules, piece identification and movements, and good chess habits in a fun, supportive environment designed especially for young beginners.

Group Class for the Spring Quarter starts on April 1, 2026
For students who have already learned to play chess and are interested in getting challenged and improving, join us in the Beginner II and Intermediate classes which are offered Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Click below for more info and to register.
