Is your child ready to compete this month? The Scholastic tournament is a monthly chess tournament for players in Kindergarten to 12th grade. The next scheduled kids only tournament will be on Sunday, February 22 at 10 am. The games will be rated and submitted for rating with US Chess. Therefore, US Chess Federation membership is required; players can register or renew it onsite at the chess club.

Check-in between 9:30-9:45 AM and Round 1 starts at 10 AM with awards estimated at around 4 pm. There will be 5 rounds.
Time control: Game 30 minutes, delay 5 seconds
Venue: Indoors at 6803 International Ave. Unit 206, Cypress, CA 90630 (Free parking available)
Sections (subject to change depending on the number of players)
- K-12th grade (Over 1100 in rating)
- K-8th grade Under 1100
- K-6th grade rated Under 800
- K-3rd grade Under 400
Awards: Top 5 trophies awarded in each section

Boards, sets, and clocks will be provided.
We recommend bringing your own writing utensils and scorebook/notebook. Scorebooks are also available for purchase at the chess club for $5.
