We got the following events on the schedule if you would like to pin them on your calendars to attend

Tournaments

• Amateur Tournament Sunday, March 9 – Starter tournament for beginner players. Round 1 starts at 12 pm at SteelCraft Garden Grove.
• Blitz Tournament on Tuesday, March 18 at 7 pm. Rated tournament!
• Saturday Tournament – Round 1 starts at 11:00 AM

  • March 15* (*Special Saturday: Grandmaster Lecture on the Queen’s Gambit prior to the March 15th tournament. Lecture starts at 9:30 am.)

• Scholastic Tournament – March 23 for chess players in Grades K – 12th only.
• Weekly Wednesday Knights – Every Wednesdays: March 5, 12, 19, AND 26 – One round per night starting at 7:00 pm

Lessons/Workshops

A. Grandmaster Lecture on the Queen’s Gambit, Saturday, March 15, 2025 9:30-10:30 am.

B. Wednesday’s Endgame Workshop (5:00-6:30 PM): Hear useful ideas to improve your endgame! This workshop delves into concepts like Rook endgames.

• 2/26 King & Pawn Endgames (Beyond Basic Opposition)
• 3/5 Rook Endgames

C. Thursday’s Quick Tips and Tricks (6:30-7 PM): Got a burning chess question you’d like to get answered? Join us on Thursday for a bite-size lesson during open play hours.

D. Open slots for 1-hour private lessons for beginners on Tuesday starting at 7 and 8 pm and Sunday at 10:30 am

ChessPalace is open for casual games during open play hours on Thursdays and Friday at 6:00 to 10:00 pm Entry fee is $10 (Complimentary for club members).
