The chess club will be closed for the rest of the evening, this Friday, May 22, 2026.
Due to the chemical emergency near the Garden Grove/Stanton border at Western and Chapman, Orange County Fire Authority has modified the evacuation order. Evacuations include the north area of Trask Ave. South of Ball Rd, east of Valley View St., and west of Dale St.
All classes and the open play at ChessPalace are cancelled for tonight.
For the Saturday Tournament, we are planning to open and have it as scheduled tomorrow (5/23) at 11 am. We are actively monitoring the news and if anything changes, we will post an update as soon as possible.
