American Open is less than a month away! Join your fellow chess players and sign up early; entry fee increases starting November 1, 2023.
- Main Tournament – Open (norm possible! with 9 rounds); Under 2000 will now also be FIDE rated
- Scholastic Tournaments will be on Fri, Sat, and Sun
- Blitz – Saturday evening
- Action – Sunday afternoon
- MasterClass Workshop with Grandmaster Melik Khachiyan will be on Tuesday and Wednesday before the tournament
Club Championship Wednesday Knights – Wednesday Knights is a tournament for the whole month and will have one round played each Wednesday night on. These next two months, we combined them to have the rounds for November and December to have a 6-rounds tournament! Dates are Nov. 1, 8, 15 AND Dec. 6, 13 and 20. Registration and check in between 6 – 6:30 pm. Each round starts at 7:00 pm on Wednesdays
Saturday Tournament – We have weekly tournaments on Saturdays: Nov 4, 11, and 18. (No Saturday Tournament on Nov 25). Register to join other chess players for over-the-board, rated games. If registering onsite $45 (pre-registration $30), please come in early, between 9:00 and 9:30 am. Round 1 starts at 10 AM
Amateur Tournament Nov. 12th – First round starts at 12 pm. (US Chess membership is not required for the non-rated section.) *Please note that this tournament is at SteelCraft Garden Grove* There is limited space so sign up early.
Casual chess on Thursdays and Fridays – Free for chess club members/$10 for non-members. Play as many games as possible between the hours of 6 pm to 10 pm. Walk-ins welcome! or Click Here to Sign Up
