Our annual scholastic chess tournament by the beach is back! It will be on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Santa Monica Beach at the Chess Park near the pier.
The tournament is open to chess players in Kindergarten to 12th Grade.

- Under 1100
- Under 800
- Under 400
- Non-rated section
Time Control: game 30 minutes with 5 seconds delay
Schedule*: 4 rounds (possibly 5 rounds if there’s time)
10 AM, 11:15 AM, 1 PM, 2:15 PM
(*Schedule of round times are subject to change. Please stay within the vicinity of the tournament area during the duration of the tournament.)
Prizes: 1st – 5th place trophy winners in each section.
Chess sets are included. Bring notation booklets, pencils, and clocks if applicable. Come prepared with hats, caps, sunscreen, sunglasses, and drinking water.
Registration: $35 until day before the tournament.
Same-day registration $45 ends at 9:00 am.
